<idAbs>Two freshwater zones exist in Abu Dhabi: one in the northeast recharged by Hajjar Mountains rainfall, flowing slowly and becoming more saline toward the Gulf; the other north of Liwa, where ancient rainwater remains fresh due to minimal recharge, sandy soils, and low flow.
