Description: The Coastal Sabkha in Abu Dhabi, an environmentally sensitive area, spans from the Western Region to the Abu Dhabi/Dubai border. Its largest part is between Abu Dhabi city and Mirfa, with significant sections near the Saudi border. This salt-coated desert lacks vegetation due to high salinity, but can sustain halophytes where sand exists. The coastal sabkha, particularly the complete sabkha south of Al Dabbi’ya and Abu Al Abyadh Islands, is globally recognized for displaying all four main sabkha layers.
