Description: Macroalgae communities in Abu Dhabi emirate, stretching from the Saudi Arabia to Dubai border, are environmentally sensitive. They exist along the coast and around islands, either mixed with seagrass and reef communities or separately. Over 30 seaweeds, characterized by more than 10% cover of rooted vascular species, are found here. Phaeophyceae (brown algae) is the most common.
