Tidal flats are coastal wetlands formed by mud deposits from tides, often lacking vegetation or having less than 10% plant cover. The only plant species found here is the seagrass, Halodule uninervis, visible at low tide. No macroalgae grow here, though broken pieces may be present. These habitats are crucial for wading birds, particularly migratory plovers and sandpipers that feed on benthic invertebrates.
