Description: Nesaab fishing gear, set up in I, L, or T shapes, is used in Abu Dhabi Emirate. Positioned perpendicular to the coast in shallow waters, it's weighted and buoyed to cover the water column overnight. Information on the unregulated spatial distribution of the Nesaab gill net comes from Abu Dhabi's commercial fisheries statistics (2010-2012) in the NFIS. Fishermen use an 18x18 km marine grid to indicate their locations, identifying Nesaab fishing areas. The spatial distribution polygon, defined by the IDW tool and divided into eight Jenks natural break classes, omits fishing intensity values below 0.05.
