Description: Groundwater salinity map, based on 1,400 wells, shows fresh water near Al Ain and north of Liwa Crescent. Moderately-brackish zones extend toward Ghayathi and Khaznah. Salinity increases sharply south of Liwa and near Jabal Hafit due to mixing with deep brines. Coastal and sabkha areas contain saline/brine water from evaporation and dissolved salts. Overpumping causes upward saline intrusion.||خريطة ملوحة المياه الجوفية، استنادًا إلى 1,400 بئر، تُظهر وجود مياه عذبة قرب العين وشمال ليوا. تمتد المياه معتدلة الملوحة نحو غياثي والخزنة. ترتفع الملوحة جنوب ليوا وقرب جبل حفيت بسبب اختلاطها بالمياه العميقة. تحتوي المناطق الساحلية والسبخات على مياه مالحة بسبب التبخر والأملاح الذائبة. يؤدي الضخ الزائد إلى تسرب المياه المالحة للأعلى.
