Description: Soil salinity in the top meter was evaluated using electrical conductivity (EC), which reflects salt concentration. High amounts of neutral salts like sodium chloride and sodium sulfate can hinder plant water absorption due to increased soil osmotic pressure, possibly surpassing plant cell pressure. Salts can also impact nutrient ion exchange, causing plant nutritional deficiencies. Average EC measurements (EC 1:1) were collected at each horizon and field site, taking into account horizon thickness, for the top meter of soil.
