Description: Two freshwater zones exist in Abu Dhabi: one in the northeast recharged by Hajjar Mountains rainfall, flowing slowly and becoming more saline toward the Gulf; the other north of Liwa, where ancient rainwater remains fresh due to minimal recharge, sandy soils, and low flow. In sabkha flats along the coast and southeast, shallow groundwater evaporates, increasing salinity to over 140,000 mg/L.||منطقتان من المياه العذبة موجودتان في أبوظبي: شمال شرق الإمارة حيث تغذي جبال الحجر الخزان الجوفي، وتزداد الملوحة باتجاه البحر؛ وشمال ليوا حيث المياه القديمة بقيت عذبة بفضل بطء التدفق وتجانس الرمال. في السبخات غربًا وجنوب شرقًا، يؤدي التبخر إلى زيادة الملوحة لتتجاوز 140,000 ملغم/لتر.
